15 Minutes of Fame?

Probably best known for her sexually charged yet demanding demeaour on "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" - you may be surprised to know that the performer did in fact have more than just 15 minutes of fame - if only just!
Yes, it was Ellen Foley who sang back up on those Jim Steinman penned miniature rock opera classics from the monumental 1977 album.
A singer and actress by trade, Foley has appeared on Broadway and television and is probably remembered for her single season role in the sitcom Night Court.
In music, she has released three solo albums but it is her collaborations with both Steinman and of course Meatloaf where she gained her high public profile.
In spite of her performance on the album - her voice was lip synched by fellow performer Karla DeVito who is actually featured on the music video.
Foley's debut album Night Out was released in 1979 and the single "What's A Matter Baby" was only a minor hit, reaching #92 on the US Charts.
She can also be heard on The Clash album Sandinista!, released in 1980 and sang backing vocals for Joe Jackson on Body and Soul.
She released another two solo albums in 1982 and 1983 - which both effectively failed to chart.
Foley also tried her hand in a brief brush with Broadway including Me and My Girl and the revival of Hair - yet history will surely recount her as the girl on 'that album' - which is still the third biggest selling of all time.
15 minutes of fame never lasted so long.
