Are New Year's Resolutions 'Old Hat'
December 30th 2010 23:22
You hear people tout their New Year's Resolutions - but is the practice (which invariably little more than lip service to one's self) fast running out of steam?
Let's face it - the same suspects seem to come up on the radar every year and range from spend more time with family and friends to quit smoking, getting '
fit', losing weight, getting out of debt, enjoying life more, learn something new, help others, get organised . . . yaddah yaddah yaddah.
Mind you, all the above are quite admirable in their intent and I we all need a starting point so why not New Year's I guess, but while I keep hearing the question being asked - I'm more and more hearing the fairly neutral response of 'I don't do resolutions' or 'I can't be bothered anymore'.
Perhaps it's the crowd I mix with, perhaps the mindset is more common than I'd imagined.
Anyone?
