Pop Culture Keepsakes

There's collectors (aka pseudo hoarders) and those who adhere to the adage out with the old and in with the new - yet we all seem to have at least one keepsake from our formative years we look back on with fondness.


The reason I bring this up, resides with a friend who pulled out of a draw his one and only remnant from the late 70s and early 80s - Smurfette.

Yes - you heard me - a male friend's lasting and most fond memory of the early 80s was this 2-inch tall blue smurf - given to him by an old girlfriend.

Admittedly, he has kept it buried for years and passes it off as something the kids must've have left lying around - fact is - I know the real story.

While most look back on photographs with a deal of awe (or is that awwww?) to keep the memory alive, some find the spark through some trinket or piece of memorabilia which usually is put into 'safe keeping' - be they concert posters or indeed smurfs?

So folks do you have any pop culturally sensitive keepsakes?

My greatest toys that I still have - the Millennium Falcon and one of the spaceships from Space 1999. LOL
