Top 80's Duets
June 15th 2008 22:48
No pressure here - but who are your best duets of the 80s
Was there something in the water or something in the hair gel that encouraged musicians with virtually no common ground to join forces and crank out duets?
Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton? Run DMC and Aerosmith?
Who could forget George Michael and Aretha Franklin or my personal favourite - Roy Orbison and K.D Lang.
So take in a couple of these classics and let the world know just who were your most popular duets of the 80's.

What was it with McCartney?
The whole Michael Jackson (and) Stevie Wonder with Ebony and Ivory thang . . .
Have to admit though - that he'd still have to go a long way to beat the ever commercially minded Paul Simon - who basically ripped off performers such as Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
Oh the 80's . . . when greed errr . . . commercialism under under any guise was good.

Could listen to Don Henley all day - and as for Stevie Nicks - well I guess she has her fan base too - but it just never quite worked for me as a duet - perhaps a legacy of being mortally wounded by a similar title in the 70's by an Aussie performer.
