Which Are Your Five Favourite 80s Movies?
July 31st 2010 10:37
Where do you start when it comes to 80s movies - so many genre's, so much fluff and too many teen flicks to list . . . but what an era!
Let's face it, when a decade kicks off with a move like The Blue's Brothers and The Empire Strikes Back - you know your in for a cinematic rollercoaster ride.
It's true that the same decade that offered Stand By Me, St Elmo's Fire and The Elephant Man also dished up Grease 2, Starchaser - The Legend of Orin and Urban Cowboy - but so what - it was the 80s damn it!
Perhaps you were a Flashdance freak or cut loose with Footloose. Maybe Revenge of the Nerds, Porky's or Risky Business was more your go or was it The Colour of Money, Dirty Dancing, The Breakfast Club or Back to the Future?
Did An Officer and A Gentleman find a place in your soul or Aliens, A Fish Called Wanda, Pretty In Pink or A Nightmare on Elm Street fit the bill?
Well a better man than me would have a tough time listing just five - but give it a crack folks.
And just to help you a little I've included a link which will not only give you a cheat list of of some of the classic 80s films - but hopefully help rekindle some of the lost classics in your mind.
Long live the 80s.

Love them all but think ET and Empire share equal first spot.

It's tough, ain't it? Do you go with the flippant, comfort stuff or the quality?

Yes, yes she was - but that was then huh? Have to admit I wasn't a big fan of Goonies though - but to each their own I say.
Still get a lot of satisfaction out of Back to The Future - though noticed it was starting to age just a tad when it was on the box the other night . . . bah - who cares - it was the 80's.
Thanks for stopping by

A few out of left field there champ. Always great to have something a few curve balls thrown in.
Speaks volumes about what that decade dished up huh?

Your opinion is one of those most (if not all) on Orble would sit up and take notice of.

If I like it it rocks hahahahaha
Probs a combo of the two - but I was a kid in the 80's and I loved the stuff with mass appeal at the time.
