Get when you thought you'd heard everything - here's an example of how you can put together three world-class performers (well Andy did have a couple of hits) and come out with an absolutely dog of a performance.
I'm sure there's been other classic examples which you can come up with . . . but this one really hurt.

I'm trying to think of other collaborations that really haven't worked.....but I'm coming up blank. I'll think about it some more and come on back when I've got something!!

How right you are!
Who would've thought that Abba/ONJ/Andy Gibb singing Beach Boys would've been so godamn awful.
Ouch

Mama Mia! Help Me Rhonda, yeah to erase that from my mind!
They definitely needed viking hats for the opera portion. That would have made it somewhat worthwhile.

It's just sad really - no one looks particularly interested in being there either - as for Olivia's drum playing skills - well there's reason she probably sang for a living - though this little clip wouldn't have exactly got her a gig . . . well anywhere really.
Cheers

I'm going to dare to defy you (again) and say I thoroughly enjoyed this JAM. Gosh, Freda has an operatic voice? How talented. This made my own performances and jam efforts seem ... well... not so shabby after seeing this... *smiling on the inside*
I think we always think of them superstars, well as superstars... it;'s nice to see their discomforts and jitters when placed in front of their peers... yet all so very talented int heir own rights. Veyr interesting study...
thanks for sharing the clip.

It really is curl up and die value isn't it? From the bowels of awfulness . . . there's no denying they've all had a 'Barry Crocker".

It unfortuately sits with me like plumb pudding - looks enticing till you digest it - then you really wish you'd thought about it first.

You always manage to put a positive spin in things - good on you.
There's no denying their individual talents - but on a national television show - you'd think they'd all like to put on their best faces - still it does show a more human side to things - and gives us all hope at our next karoke outing.
Mind you - Olivia on the snare drum - now we're stretching it just a weeeeeee bit.
Stay well

Now for the reason I came back here. . .
As I sat here writing another post I have VH-1 Classics on in the background with Rock Fest as the current video show.
This one is sort of the opposite of the subject of your post. It isn't some superstars getting together just to look bad. The video that just came on was Mama, Weer All Crazee Now by the Runaways (remake of Slade's song, which was also later remade by Quiet Riot.)
The Runaways was a band that featured some superstars early on in their careers that went on to stardom.
Joan Jett who moved on to be with The Blackhearts for a few hits.
Lita Ford who went on to solo success as a hair metal sexpot, and later did Close My Eyes Forever with Ozzy Osbourne.
Cherie Currie who went on to star co-star in Foxes with Jodie Foster. Not really a big star though.
and Michael Steele who would go on to have more success than any of them with The Bangles.
Another difference - The Runaways were pretty good with Joan Jett on lead vocals.

Now what was it that I was doing? Anyone have some ADHD medicine I can have?

Quick addition to the list, but these guys were actually pretty good together too.
The Traveling Wilburys - Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, and Bob Dylan
