What Makes A Great Album Cover?

Music and art go hand in hand. And the best way to get a potential buyers’ attention is with an eye catching album cover. We all know you can’t just judge a book by its cover but it doesn’t hurt to give a CD a spin based off a sexy piece of art.
Album cover art is often considered to be one of the “extinct” fields in modern graphics design which quite frankly is a great pity given these expressions of pop culture can be extremely convey the message of the album in a number of creative ways.
Which leads me into asking the question of whether you've seen any good album covers lately?
When the compact disc began annihilating the LP, the era of the glorious 12-by-12-inch album cover began a meltdown.
Most CD covers are depressingly unimaginative, apparently intended for the nuance-impaired.
Still, just because the space has shrunk doesn't mean art directors can't work visual magic with a CD cover.
