The 5 Best Animated Movie of All Time?
January 14th 2010 20:35
Friendly banter turned to heated competition just the other day as a group of friends and I engaged (with some fervour) the virtures of exactly what should lay claim to the greatest animated movie of all time.
The candidates were none too shoddy - with Fantasia, Snow White, Dumbo, The Lion King and Toy Toy Story being the big movers - yet votes also came from the least likely quarters including Lady and Tramp, Antz and even a Japanese classic (which frankly I'd never heard of) called Akira.
In fact special mention was made of psuedo animations including the Beatles Yellow Submarine.
So put it to rest folks - quell the uprising - what at least makes your top 5 if not your favourite.
Does Roger Rabbit deserve to crack the big time?
Or do Bambi and Shrek make the directors cut?

Personally thought you may have rated Fantasia, but given you are the Oracle - have to take on board your selections - in spite of an obvious bent . . .
Particularly interesting list champion - I'm sure it will open up debate.

Have to admit I secretly loved the Little Mermaid - though it probably had more to do with the age of my kids at the time . . .
I concur with your sentiments on Harvie Krumpet.

Yep - the Incredibles rank up there with Toy Story in my books too. Love the outtakes on those things . . . how clever

You know I only watched Ratatouille in its entirety for the first time the other week - and thoroughly enjoyed it. Saw Monsters Inc at the Drive In of all places in a double feature with Toy Story - talk about animation overload.
Cheers

You know - I've still to watch Wall-E from start to finish . . . am I bad?
Nemo was outstanding - but the addition of (insert here city of your choice and accent of your choice) throughout various parts of the movie kinda marred it for mine a little though.
Thanks for stopping by . . .
