Big Brother Is Watching . . . but are you?
July 2nd 2008 00:14
Ouch . . . you have to admit, watching the current series of Big Brother is akin to watching a trainwreck where the producers and television executives are the drivers and apparently not adverse to continuing to railroad viewers with increasing ridiculous and mind numbing ways of piling cabbose after cabbose into one another.
In fact - the horribleness of it all has been enough to attract my attention as far as what lengths Channel 10 will go to just to ensure someone (anyone) is watching what surely MUST be the final instalment of what originally had the potential to be a genuine one-off in exploring human behaviour.
The news last week however that Baywatch siren and all round nice gal - Pamela Anderson would be entering the house has to be the final card in stacked deck as station 'jumps the shark' on BB08.
How Pammy will stack up against the damned hypnotist that ventured into the house weeks ago, gay fashion icon Carson Kressley, the re-emergence of dwarf belly dancer Rema or the rest of the disfunctional inmates is anyones guess . . . but truly - is anybody (other than me) taking a passing interest in how a television station can self-implode so completely?

I suspect that trifecta (well written, well acted and drama) is about as likely to appear on network ten as I have of winning lotto.
You'd think they'd be acutely aware that people are tired of bobbing for apples in a barrel of acid by now.
Cheers
