Where Do You Blog?
January 3rd 2008 21:55
A friend of mine, keen to explore new horizons, recently 'interogated' me about what I got out of blogging and the Orble network.
His intentions were, of course admirable - and, by all accounts his new on-line journey will be up and running in no time.
However one question (which was obviously important to him) and surprised me a little was "When and Where Do You Blog"?
Was it at work?
Was it at home?
Was it during my lunch break?
Did I frequent an internet cafe?
Did I write my posts in at particular time each day?
So many questions - and I guess so many possible answers.
So - in the interests of research - where do you blog?

Where do I blog
Was it at work?
Nope. Can't blog while listening to patients pour their hearts out. Not good for business (although some of my patients have reported that their previous therapist fell asleep during a session!)
Was it at home?
Always
Was it during my lunch break?
What lunch break?
Did I frequent an internet cafe?
Don't even know where the nearest one is!
Did I write my posts in at particular time each day?
Always in the evenings or overnight when I have insomnia
Great questions friend!

Was it at work?
Yes, I work from home
Was it at home?
Yes, I work from home
Was it during my lunch break?
Yes, even though I try to keep my lunch break to myself. Being at home I tried to structure my day so I do get a break otherwise I fall into the trap of never eating.
Did I frequent an internet cafe?
My kitchen
Did I write my posts in at particular time each day?
Usually at night after the kiddies are asleep. I used to try and do it during the day.
Love & stuff

Actually I plan my contents off line. I might be on a train, or sitting on the beach tanning and ideas would sprint. I'd write a little down and then usually come home, or to an internet cafe to type it all out.
Oh ok - I do do a lot at work, but don't tell my boss.

Your life and blog posts continually give me a mental picture of some busy little 'nectar collector' - whose life is a flurry of colour and hecticity (now there's a new word for you!).

Guess ya gotta fill in the day somehow doing something you feel is personally constructive.
Just don't get caught my friend - you may have to look for another job you don't like

Free time these days is such a valuable commodity. And the blogosphere is so absorbing - that you quickly become infatuated with it - huh?
Thanks for sharing some of your free time with me.

Hard to blog if you don't have a where - but would be interested in your how if you'd care to expand.

I'm reasonably structured in my approach - but then again that's because my life demands it.
Oh to come up with ideas while sitting on a Sydney beach - what bliss!
Looking forward to your next post Amy.

I blog in-between. That's the beauty of the blog for me. It's a place where I can share a half-thought, a question that's troubling me, or a beautiful line from something I've read.
Love all your posts MNG

Yep - the blogosphere is a great compendium of not only half thoughts and questions but a superb therapeutic outlet.
