Great Film 'Bromances'
July 14th 2009 22:53
While no two guys, should ever sing a karaoke duet together, there is nothing better than jamming out with your friends while driving.
Wayne and Garth displayed the textbook buddy sing-a-long and inspired an new generation of geeks to rock “Bohemian Rhapsody” in the car in Wayne's World - which got me thinking about other great film "bromances'.
Ok - so perhaps the pairing of Glover and Gibson in Lethal Weapon or even Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck ion Ferris Bueller's Day off probably don't strictly count as 'bromances' - they are still great buddy flicks.
As is DeVito and Schwartzenegger in Twins or dare I say it - Kirk and Spock even my personal favourite of Andy and Red from The Shawshank Redemption.
So what are some of the great 'bromances' of the silver screen in your opinion?

Film & TV on DVD
My all time favourite "Bromance" has to be Thunderbolt (Clint Eastwood) and Lightfoot (Jeff Bridges) in the Michael Cimino film Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.
After that a few that spring to mind: (In no particular order)
Redford and Newman as Butch and Sundance
Alan Arkin and James Caan in Freebie and Bean
Donald Sutherland and Elliot Gould in MASH
Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jnr in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
John Wayne and Dean Martin in Rio Bravo
Charles Bronson and Toshiro Mifune in Red Sun
The Driver (James Taylor) and The Mechanic (Dennis Wilson) in Two Lane Blacktop
Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon in the Odd Couple
Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy in 48HRS
The ménage a troi of Quint (Robert Shaw), Brody (Roy Scheider) and (Richard Dreyfuss) in Jaws
