Women Are From Venus - Spin Doctors from Mars

June 2nd 2009 22:32
Mars Bars

Do the spin doctors really think that they are dealing with idiots?

The makers of the popular Mars Bar have announced it would be reducing the size of Mars Bars from 60g to 53g - the price, however, will remain the same.

But rather than being honest and declaring it to the world that, they came out with a laudable line about how they are taking this action to fight the obesity epidemic.

Do’h – sprung!

Guy’s - you sell chocolate bars.

When tobacco companies downsize a packet of cigarettes but not the price, they don’t send out a press release claiming that it is because they’ve decided to save lives.

It’s not a crime to want to increase your profit – that’s the nature of business.

But don’t dress it up crusading social do-gooding.

What about all the people who will decide that one Mars Bar just isn't enough any more, and buy two?

Samaritan

Good for business eh!

Any wonder the bite size packs run out the store so quickly.

Cheeky advertising but Samaritan is right, though. Most people will probably buy two instead of one!

Wonder how much smaller they have to get before people realise they actually aren't buying anything

yeah Cadbury family chocolate blocks are now smaller and the same price, my housemate tried to take a stand and buy Whittakers but his partner complained it tasted like gritty dirt and they moved back to the smooth creamy Cadbury
