What's Your Favourite Variety of Chocolate?
November 21st 2007 21:30
Everyone loves chocolate.
Well, almost everyone I guess?
There are some who simply choose not to delight in it for reasons best known to themselves - and that's cool!
But in essence - (and thanks in part to the responses on Krystal's fearlovehate.com blog on What Makes You Feel Good) I feel reasonably safe in suggesting that chocolate would - if guilt didn't rule our hearts - be part of the staple diet.
Most Friday nights at our place is designated 'chocolate night'.
Unless otherwise detained - it is the one night of the week that (in the knowledge dad is armed with a variety of sweet cocoa laden treats) I'm greeted with a sense of family and warmth - as I walk through the front door.
Without doubt - its the way to my family's heart.
The biggest challenge though is what to buy?
. . . and of course while variety is the spice of life - everyone has their favourites.
Number 1 daughter regails in a Crunchie, while number 2 is a Polly Waffle fanatic. Number 3 is easily pleased but is quite partial to anything resembling a Kit Kat while Mrs Nice Guy would happily die eating a Bounty Bar.
As for me - well - I tend to get what ever is left - and that suits me just fine - though I do have the occassional penchant for Cherry Ripe's.
So welcome to the Chocolate Bar - what will it be?

I don't love coconut, marshmallows or turkish delight, but will still happily eat them, lol.
I love Flakes. I know it's just normal chocolate but the flakiness makes it so good!
Also like Cherry Ripes like you, MNG.
And absolutely adore Lindt chocolate balls.

I'm not a Turkish Delight fan either - and Flakes are, well - just a little too flakey for me. Easter egg chocolate - with a couple of pints of milk is heaven too.
Mmmmmm

When Mrs Nice Guy needs a quick fix - she dives into the pantry and sneaks a piece of dark cooking chocolate - how sad is that?
Lindt balls are pretty special though - I agree.
Stay well.

and Kit-Kat, then of course there is the Tim Tam, although owning the whole packet is a recipe for disaster so we usually just go for chocolate bars,,,once you start there is no stopping.....

Caramello Koala and Violet Crumble - add a fantale (complete with details on the stars) a Pollywaffle and you've got an Aussie Chocolate convention.
Do you do the whole sucking a coffee/Tia Maria through a Tim Tam thing?
. . . don't know if I can hang out til Friday Chocolate night at this rate.
Yours in chocolate . . .

We live in a chocolate civilisation . . .

Nice of you to drop on by.
Chokito really gets you going. Though it sounds like you're a bit of a Milky Bar Kid too.
The ancients really had their heads screwed on didn't they!
Long live ancient traditions.

The Belgians make pretty awesome chocolate too, but it's hard to find their best chocolate here.
On some days though, just about any chocolate will do. Not that disgusting carob muck though. Can't stomach that stuff.

By the way, I sent Jon et al my design description of the Golden Orb award, not long after I posted about it....it will be interesting to see what it ends up looking like!
P.P.S.
OH...how about a chocolate version of the Golden Orb award!!!???!!! We could be cheap and just put a Lindt choc ball inside, instead of having one made, I suppose!!

It may have been easier to list what you're not into my friend
PS: Would love a sneak peak at the Orb - though happy to console myself with Malteses or a Lindt version in the interim.
Cheers Bud

Friday (and chocolate night) seems so far away . . .
To help me get through - I'll satisfy myself with a 'virtual' Lindt.
Enjoy.
