All I Want For Christmas Is . . .

December 10th 2008 01:52
Xmas
OK, OK, OK . . . so peace, harmony and goodwill to all men is on top of everyone's wish list this festive season and is something we should with clear and concise deed, we strive for 365 days of the year - but what is it that you secretly yearn this Christmas.

Perhaps its material, maybe spiritual, a chance 'mend fences' and put behind your differences, or is it as simple as time with family or time for yourself.

It's a simple question . . . yet given the frantic and commercial nature of the season - we are generally the last one's to take care of our own needs, wants and secretly harboured wishes.

And while age is not necessarily synonomous with wisdom - I can genuinely say that if I find time with family and friends, smiles and laughter under my tree this year then I will be satisfied.

All I want for Christmas is to spend as much time as I can with friends and family over food and wine. I love Christmas for that because once Christmas Day arrives everyone starts to chill out.

Morgan, is that the Passion Pop you will be dragging out?

I want a Christmas free of drama!

In the middle of Christmas dinner last year our cat almost died and we had to rush her to the pet hospital so the family spent the rest of Christmas day in the waiting room at the pet hospital...at least we were together! Many hours and about $1200 later we went home exhausted, broke and hungry.

The Christmas before my brother had only been recently diagnosed with cancer so it was very sedate and bittersweet. The year before I had surgery on Christmas eve. Christmas Schmistmas. I would like nothing better than to spend the day in bed with the doona over my head.

Bah Humbug! From the Christmas ho

Sorry to rain on your parade MNG

A basement to hide in with no bright and colourful lights... they hurt my head!

I concur.

Good company, good food and appreciating the nature of the moment is so important - be it Christmas or just a tribal get together.

Good call.

All the very best for the festive season

No need to abologise.

That's absolutely tragic. They say that things happen in three's - and while each has been horribly testing - I'm guessing that in some bizare way it brought your family together and focused each on how important loved ones are.

My sincere Christmas wish for you is that 'good tidings' come your way and this festive season is filled with love, laughter and happy memories.

Salutations for a merrier Xmas . . .

Curious thing . . .

A colleague of mine whose young son suffers from a particular condition - says while he is attracted to them - becomes completely disorientated when confronted with the flashing coloured lights on trees - so has to warn friends to turn these off when they intend visiting - not to mention the chaos when they spy such in city stores.

Perhaps some very dark sunglasses

Seasons best wishes to you and yours . . .

Hm, now that's interesting.

Mmm, dark sunglasses could be good.
