Your Favourite Christmas Tune
December 15th 2011 03:44
OK - so to start with, enough of the politically correct Happy Holiday greeting - it's called Christmas folks - and frankly I don't know too many followers of other religions (or athestists by the way) who are offended by the celebration.
To date, I haven't seen the rush to politically cleanse Ramadan or refrain from wishing anyone a happy Hanukkah - so let's get off the bandwagon people.
Rant now officially over.
Now - back to Christmas.
After years of dredging out John Lennon's War is Over and Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas - seems radio stations are finally waking up to the fact there are more than just a couple of festive season favourites among the masses.
In fact, not only did one station dig deep into its archives to pull out a Sex Pistols version of Jingle Bells the other day which I had no idea existed but tempered it with a more traditional rendition from the master crooner himself Bing Crosby.
From dust covered classics by the Beatles through to the Beach Boys, through to Jose Feliciano, Madonna, Wham and Dido - do you have either a pop or traditional favourite?
