What's Your Favourite TV Classic?
December 12th 2007 02:27
C'mon - you know you have at least one - a classic TV program which you've never quite grown out of - one which still tugs at the emotional heartstrings.
It doesn't have to be necessarily a real 'oldie' like 77 Sunset Strip but could be from which ever era represents 'classic' to you.
For mine - its as ecletic as Adam 12 to Batchelor Father, The Addams Family to Room 222, Beverley Hillbillies to The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis.
Yep - Gidget, Hogan's Heroes, Leave It To Beaver, The Brady Bunch, Lancelot Link - Secret Chimp, Mr Ed and Rin Tin Tin - they're all there . . . and more.
So - What's Your Favourite Classic piece of TV?

Mooseketeer ears all round huh?
There used to be a program here in Sydney (late night) once a week which would run half hour episodes of old favourities including Gunsmoke, Twelve O'Clock High, Robert Taylor's Detectives, The Fugitive etc etc - lasted for months - then suddenly got pulled from our screens.
Had a huge following - and given it was hardly in a prime ratings period (I think it was round 11pm) don't know why it's never resurfaced.
Humph
Thanks for dropping by - hope the weather is being kind to you this time of year.

Mary Ann still frequents my thoughts occassionally too.
Only ever so often does Mrs Howell ever wend her way in - just ahead of the Prof and Ginger

My kids think Lucy is outrageous and love watching the old B and W's.
Don't think they've been privvy to Mr Ed though. Gidget is also a pretty big hit in the MNG household.
Thanks for sharing.

Saved by the Bell is a new one to me - I'll have to check it out.
The early series Happy Days though is classic TV - lost its way in the final two seasons though with the whole Joannie/Cachie thing.
Thanks for tuning in.

I know you can do at least one better than that. Though the Avengers was a very cool program.

Gold dreams cost no more than silver ones.
Just be wary when you choose to strut around town in harem pants that all.

Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore - what a team.
Aheady mix of classic slapstick and well rehearsed one-liners in a great situ comedy.
Bob Newhart on the other hand - is just plain funny.
Dry humour - is it any wonder it worked so well over here.

I don't think anyone minds that you're putting your passion on show - let alone your age.
. . . is there really any such thing as too much telly?
Cheers

There are certainly thousands of like minded Dr Who fans out there that would rate this this as one of the all-time classics - certainly as far as longevity is concerned.
Nice choice.

Loved that Monkeemobile.
The program used to run over here after this crazy thing call Lancelot Link - Secret Chimp - so to say I was hooked is understating things - much to the chegrin of my father.
Sorry - the whole witchypoo thang left me a little cold though.
