TV's Cutest Kids

March 20th 2009 02:51
Having been holed up in a hotel room for a week - full of late nights and not much more than work and Foxtel - I found myself subjected to more of the Disney Channel, Nickoloden et al than someone really ought.

But as always - there was a silver lining to be found amidst this darkest of small screen clouds.

Having sat through A Family Affair, Eight Is Enough, Webster, Punky Brewster and Doogie Howser it occurred to me that TV has had its fair share of very forgettable 'tween' faces and a smattering of the proverbial "cute as apple pie' faces interspersed - very few of whom have actually cut the mustard and made it big time.

But who have been the cuties?

Does the kid from the Wonder Years make it?

Or any of the Brady Kids?

Perhaps a young Mickey Dolenz (of the Monkees fame) and his role in the almost ancient "Circus Boy" qualifies.

Would love to get a list together of everyone's favourites.

Kevin Arnold. There was a program. Let me get philosophical--my dad liked The Waltons because it took place when he was a kid. I liked The Wonder years because it was my youth. So, that was my Waltons. BUT because I identified too closely with Kevin I can't give him my vote--too painful.

I'd have to go way back to Toddler Tabitha on Bewitched.

Funny thing about the Wonder Years - I remember that kids' real name but never his character name. I kinda watched it if I was passing - and loved the whole genre of the program even back then.

Kevin Arnold was very cute as a kid, and Doogie Howser has become more cute as an adult

remember Arthur from Hey Dad! (aussie comedy)? he was kind of cute

the Olsen twins from Full House looked like little troll dolls

oh and Ernie Douglas the replacement/adopted son with the glasses out of My Three Sons was adorable

I remember seeing Arthur (was that his name?) in a sandwich shop with his mum years ago - while the show was still on.

Very quiet kinda kid - and very much under mum's thumb - which made me think he was doing the whole acting thing for reasons other than 'his' love of it.

You blow me away with the Ernie Douglas reference - though only old men and labradors would remember that one . . .

Next thing you'll be telling me is that you love 'The Beaver' . . . Beaver Cleaver that is

Wednesday and Pugsley Adams get my vote. I like kids with a little bit of the devil in them, the others are all much to sweet.
