Ever bought one of those Dummies Guides To . . . ?
You know, the Dummies Guides, where they purport to explain the mysteries of the universe to all and sundry and where at last count there were over 1200 available
While you might expect this wealth of knowledge to have sparked a new age of enlightenment, idiots seems just as idiotic as before while dummies are still dumb.
We can't blame the publishers; they did their part - they led the horse to water - but then had to put out another series on how to make that horse drink - it's a virtual goldmine for someone - just not me.
Here are some of the best or worst examples of how idiotic our world has become.
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Simple Living
Yes, in this complicated age of things that are so much more complicated than the complications of previous generations you need a book to tell you how to live simply - right?
Err - wrong!
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Being Psychic.
I'd explain - but you've probably read the book and know what I'm about to say.
The Dummies Guide to Being Sexy.
Derrr! If you need to go to a bookstore to learn how to be sexy then chances are . . .
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Enhancing Self-Esteem
Truly, the title says it all.
So folks - cast your vote. Of course they don' t have to be genuine titles - because you just know that somewhere, someone will think it's a brilliant idea and go ahead and publish it.
