Your Favourite Movie Quote?
November 9th 2007 21:19
Go ahead punk - make my day!
Then again - My Mama always said, 'Life was like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get.'
Movie quotes - they're part of the vernacular, part of everyday life.
We use them, we abuse them - and of course we all have our favourites.
And whether or not you agree with my choices, well "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!"
But at the very least I would like a few answers?
After all I think I'm entitled.
Yes I want answers!
In fact - I want the truth!
Or perhaps you can't handle the truth!
Besides "we're all on a mission from God".
Would love to hear yours.

Well gollll . . .eeee.
Gee willika's!
To paraphrase one - Tracy just a day or two ago in response to the question "What Are You Most Likely To Forget".
"It's almost as though you are peeking into my mind lately with the questions you've asked".
Damn - it's starting to get spooky.

About a thousand from Casablanca.

"My precious."
- LOTR
"Insanity runs in my family, it practically gallops!"
- Arsenic and Old Lace
"Are you talkin to me?"
- Taxi Driver
"Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?"
- Batman

Writing Words
I have a few favourites, but there is one that is used a lot in my circleof friends: "Mmm, this is a tasty burger." - Got shortened to just "mmm", and whenever we give someone's cooking a "mmm", that means it is some serious gourmet s**t. Yeah, I could quote Pulp Fiction all day long ...

Nice choices.
Had completely forgotten about the gimp - thanks - think I'll used that sometime today.

Just be careful of the context in which you use it!

"As you pointed out, this place is run by morons!"
Or one right from the start of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels when stuck behind old people in the street
"Left leg then right leg and your body will follow, that's called walking!"

They are a couple of crackers - which didn't immediately come to mind.
I too have those days when you feel like the office asylum has been taken over by the lunatics.
Thanks for calling in - hope you stop by again soon.

Here are some of mine
Adventures in Babysitting: "Don't f**k with the babysitter!"
Dead Poet's Society "We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for."
Ferris Bueller's Day Off: Ferris: "I did have a test today. That wasn't bullshit. It's on European socialism. I mean, really, what's the point? I'm not European, I don't plan on being European, so who gives a crap if they're socialist? They could be fascist anarchists--that still wouldn't change the fact that I don't own a car. Not that I condone fascism, or any ism for that matter. Isms, in my opinion, are not good. A person should not believe in an ism--he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon: "I don't believe in Beatles--I just believe in me." A good point there. Of course, he was the Walrus. I could be the Walrus--I'd still have to bum rides off of people. "
Say Anything: "I know I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything."
Enough for now :0)
Great post!

Only ever saw Roger Rabbit once - and that is the one line that sticks with me too.
Nice choice.

I love posts like these.
The line that springs to mind at the moment is "Free Will. It is a bitch" John Milton (Al Pacino) - Devil's Advocate.
Tracy,
I couldn't find your post.
Love & stuff

"You're MFEO. Made for each other." - Sleepless in Seattle
"I'm bursting with fruit flavor." - Reality Bites
"Oh captain! My Captain!" - Dead Poets Society (although that's more a quote from a poem than it is from the movie)
"Stardust. We are all stardust." - Before Sunrise
"I like to feel his eyes on me when I look away." - Before Sunrise

Infinitely better than this post - Tracy and I have this little thing going between us. She thinks of stuff - sends it through the cerebral psychic post and I somehow manage to decipher and decode before writing something with an uncanny semblance to her next musing.
Spooky - but I don't think it counts as an illicit affair
By the way - nice choice.

I did a post on favourite quotes (Click link) a while back that had a list of a few I really rank..topping the list would probably be -
"If I knew we were going to cast our feelings into words I would have memorised the song of psalm" - Gabriel Byrne in Miller's Crossing
