What's Your Favourite Takeaway Food?
May 18th 2009 02:00
Saturday night is normally 'take out' night at our place.
With sporting conquests completed and the world a better place for knowing that Sunday morning at least affords an extra hour or two to recover - it's a veritable smorgasbord of choice when it comes to the deilghts of almost indecent menu items.
While the choices are probably not the best 'take out night' at our place recently has gravitated to three favs - woodfired pizza, Vietnamese and Malaysian - from a quaint little place we affectionately call the Nudie Bar.
That said - it hasn't precluded burgers, chicken and deep friend delicacies also finding their way occassionally to the home front - which in moderation I guess isn't going to send us over to the dark side in the blink of an eye.
But what is your fav takeaway food.
What evil lurks when you either have a night to yourself and only a DVD.
Perhaps your choices could help expand our menu.

OK - recently obsessed with Crust Pizza - suss out if one in your area. Not the cheapest but they are awesome.
Then my local Italian place, Florentino Ristorante, makes the deliscious pastas I live for. My fave is Polli E Fungi. Penne tossed with chicken, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, in creamy white wine sauce. I am salivating.
Then the local Thai, off there for dinner tonight as opposed to takeaway, makes so many yummy things but tonight its The Volcano - a combination of seafood cooked in curry, coconut milk, chilli, veg and basil. SO YUMMY
I do have to admit sometimes I get lazy on the way home and may have a monthly self indulgence of KFC. I know I know - bad me.

There is a little pizza joint in Sydney that doesn't deliver but makes scrumptiously mouthwatering pizzas.
It also depends on if I'm in the mood for a beer, a white wine or a red wine as this can sometimes weigh in on the food that I feel like.
My favourite by far though, only if it is made well, is Salt & Pepper Squid. Yummo!

As I prepare to sit down to a tantalising tin of tuna for lunch - it's almost cruel to even think about pizza, beer and salt/pepper squid - drool . . . . .

Sacrilege I know - but the best nachos I've tasted weren't in Mexico but at an Angels v Yankees game years ago - boy I must've been hungry.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the old fish n chips.
Some are better than others of course.
Mind you - I wish someone would still offer than to me wrapped in newspaper - nostalgia being what it is.
