The Definitive Top 10 Cartoon Characters of All Time
August 18th 2009 00:27
As a kid - I would often don a cape, adopt superhuman powers for a hour or so and save the world from a fate which only I could conjure.
So how broken was I when I spied the latest list of Top 50 cartoon characters as voted by a collective of TV viewers, newspaper respondents and comic afficiondo.
Whiile most of the time we just love to laugh at their antics and misfortune. the following is just the Top 9 of all time, as judged for their influence, their popularity and their hilarity. In order that we get some kind of balance I would like you to round things off with your choice for the coveted 10th spot.
1. Bugs Bunny
2. Homer Simpson
3. Mickey Mouse
4. Bart Simpson
5. Charlie Brown
6. Fred Flintstone
7. The Grinch
8. Popeye
9. Wile E. Coyote
10. ?

I'm glad to see Bugs Bunny in the top spot though I would have actually expected Mickey Mouse to be first. I would have had Mickey first and Bugs Bunny second.

Snagglepuss!!! I loved him! Now, was he gay? Certainly camp. What was that catchphrase of his? Or was it just a word he said? And the way he said it!
