What's Your Favourite Jingle?
May 1st 2008 00:26
Having just returned from almost 4 weeks in the US - the nice guy singers were smitten by a catchy (some might cruelly suggest annoying) jingle for of all things - flea control (see below).
It's cutesy, gets its message across and captures the imagination (or ire) of all who view it.
It got me to thinking though about all those great TV and radio jingles which you either loved to love or loved to hate over the years.
From the Harvey Norman (we're gonna getcha) jinlge through to Bucky Beaver and the Ipana tune - there's been scores!
So - dispensing with the hyberbole - what's been your favourite TV jingle?

Totally forgot about Mr Sheen - what a classic - and don't you think he sooooo resembles John Howard (former PM - not the actor).

All the obvious ones - Mortein, Aeroplane Jelly, Vegemite...
Generally I don't like jingles much - they are so often too effective and therefore irritating. Like the Sakata one from a few years ago.
Anyhoo - hope you had a fab time!

Thanks for the warm welcome back to our fair shores. Though to be honest - I could quite comfortably live a life in Santa Ana or LA with the occassional trip to Honolulu for some R and R. Mind you - you could quickly come to love SF - the people and the city are quite wonderful.
Just need the job offer now.
Yeah - the whole Louie the Fly, Happy Little Vegemite and Aeroplane Jelly things are absolute Aussie classics - and have stood the test of time.
Personally - I'm a bit of a jingle man myself - descerning - but a jinlge guy none the less.
Stay well you.
