Famous All-Girl Bands

When friends arrive and talk turns to music in the MNG household - then it's a little like herding cats or holding back the tide.

Whether it's one hit wonders or near obscure indy bands there's always something to be learned and of course an appropriate amount of laughter which accompanies our sometimes futile attempts to come up with a definitive list.


Last weekend was a case in point - where we tried to name at least 50 all girl bands from the Andrews' Sisters right through to today.

No reference books, no Google - just 50 off the cuff girl bands which have had at least one top ten hit.

To kick off proceedings I will throw in our initial opening gambit of five no-brainers before leaving the the rest to you.

1) The Supremes
2) The Bangles
3) The Shirelles
4) The Shangri-Las
5) The Go Go's
