A Happy Day's Reunion Show?
September 20th 2010 00:33
Rumours are continuing to spread that much of the original cast of the 70s HitCom - Happy Days are looking at doing a one-off 90 minute made for TV show!
While nothing has yet to be confirmed, whispers have been circulating for a number of months on the back of small screen producers looking to cash in on big screen remakes of classics such as Lost In Space, The Beverley Hillbillies, The Addams Family, The Brady Bunch and Dukes of Hazard.
Word is that financial backers have been secured for the special episode - which will be a pot pourie of cutting floor clips and new stuff in a "Back to the Future" type rendention of the popular series.
Insiders are still hush hush about who exactly has been signed and who hasn't - but it's believed one or two crucial names are still to be persuaded on the merits of the move.
My personal thoughts?
As much as we probably want to regail in the memory of the program (well the early series are least) - some things are best left alone.
When money is the sole arbitor in matters such as this - you can be sure that things will turn ugly.
We'll see where all this goes - but for mine . . . let's not have a re-run of the tragedy that was the Gilligan's Island fiasco a few years back.
