Daniel Radcliffe - the new James Bond?
December 4th 2010 19:32
Rumours resurfaced this morning that Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe is being groomed for a future role as a James Bond.
With only one more film left in the Harry Potter series, word has it that Radcliffe is eyeing another franchise with many believing Radcliffe has the goods to take on the role.
The rumor isn’t actually new, it surfaced several years ago, but has made a re-appearance, and it actually looks like Radcliffe is interested in the role.
In fact, no less than Pierce Brosnan has tipped Daniel Radcliffe to be a future James Bond.
Brosnan said Radcliffe had the potential to be a “perfect” 007.
Whether Radcliffe has the metal to take on the part somewhere down the track or whether producers feel Hogwarts star pupil should rather slip into folklore along with the Nimbus 2000 - we'll wait to see.

long time no type! hehe!
Apologies to Jason, but, I think it is a ludicrous idea!
Radcliffe, admittedly is coming along to be a fine little actor, but that is the problem, he is LITTLE...I mean really really little.
I am 5 foot 9 inches, and I would tower over the bloke, by about 8 inches!
They would have to cast the entire film with midgets and dig trenches for the other stars to stand in whenever in shot with him!
I would like to see Russell Crowe do one, would not want to see Hugh Jackman, funny, cannot think of any other 'Aussie' (adopted or natural) at the moment, but maybe a really gorgeous tall, lean but muscular Maori...(pant pant)..ahem..sorry about that chief, got a little carried away!
How is Mrs MNG and the teeny MNGs, all well I trust?
cheers matey,
fog
P.S. Your psot gives me an idea for a post....oh the awful stealing of ideas, well, no, but I want to discuss direcotrs and stars, and comment about why they have stalled with the latest 007, MGM being in corporate in limbo....

He's absolutely no match to Sean Connery or Roger Moore or Daniel Craig or Pierce Brosnan. Or, in fact, the best Bond of all time (in my opinion, anyway. Show's you how much I know about film...) TIMOTHY DALTON.
Daniel Radcliffe? I vote NO.

He definitely needs to continue growing first. I would loathe Crowe in a Bond film - it would be horrible. Jackman maybe but I would rather they went to the UK for a Bond. I would also love to see Craig back in the role.
I doubt it would happen - but in 10-15yrs Potter Bond could be possible. If they did it sooner with Radcliffe it would definitely be Hobbit Bond.

I recently saw an old BMW ad with Clive Owen in it. Clive would be a pretty good James Bond; but I guess he's probably already rejected the role.

Salutations old boy!
Traditonally 007 has had height on his side for sure with Sean Connery over 6 foot 3 and even Lazenby, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan all over the 6 foot mark.
Perhaps that the reason the Mel Gibson push never received too much traction?
Cheers

Dalton was never a favourite of mine - but each to their own. The Radcliffe push is probably a populist vote at the moment and could merely be the Bond franchise looking for an easy PR mark to receive headlines?
Then again . . . who knows what's behind all this.

Interesting choice!
Do you know if there's been talk of him being approached?

"Despite public denials, Owen had long been rumoured to be a possible successor to Pierce Brosnan in the role of James Bond. A public opinion poll in the United Kingdom in October 2005 (SkyNews) found that he was the public's number one choice to star in the next installment of the series. In that same month, however, it was announced that fellow British actor Daniel Craig would become the next James Bond. In an interview in the September 2007 issue of Details, he claimed that he was never offered or even approached concerning the role."
But unfortunately that's all I know...

Jason,
Radcliffe, as much as you love him, is NOT getting any bigger! He is now 20 years old isn't he, or close to that?
Sorry matey, he is on a box for the rest of his life, if he ever wants to look a tall blonde in the eye!
003.5 in Lilliput maybe....
cheers

As for Cruise, yeah, they do all the upwards shots they can and get boxes and make troughs, tinier actors and whatnot, but, at least he can look tough, whereas Radcliffe....
well, maybe in ten years or so, and he has beefed up?
However, I still want to see an Aussie in the role, and a gorgeous hunk of a Maori.
anyhoo,
