I Need A Name
April 16th 2008 01:23
For followers of the Pop Culturist blog - you'd be aware that over the last month or so, I've been fortunate enough to have stumbled into hosting my own radio program - be it ever so humble.
The three hours I get to entertain the masses (well up to 20,000 they reckon) was always on a bit of a 'suck it and see' basis but is a whole lotta fun - and basically I get to play whatever brand of music I have an inkling for.
Eclectic in both its hosts and its genre's - the station (on the FM band) must think something's going right and have offered me a more permanent slot - I guess having received either feedback from listeners or someone's resignation
That said - I'm under the pump to come up with a name for the program - which runs for three hours each Tuesday night.
Given my little niche is baby boomer pop/glam rock/power pop/a little 60's and alot of 70's kitch such as Hush, Romantics, T-Rex,Doobies, Eagles,Jackson Browne,CCR,Thin Lizzy, Steely Dan et al - I'm looking for something which the station can publicise both commercially and on its website.
And while I don't want to influence your decision making (and heaven's knows I need some of the brightest minds of our time lending me a hand here) I'd initally thought about Pop Rox or similar - but hey - I'm pretty much open to suggestions.
So gang . . . ?
