Hollywood's Greatest Pairings
February 10th 2009 22:25
Earnest discussion raged (well more a contstant volley of shots really) last night over just who were/are Hollywood's greatest pairings.
Bogart and Becall came the initial salvo from the trenches - quickly followed by Hepburn and Spencer Tracy.
Joan Crawford and Clark Gable received a brief show of support before the whole arguement went pair shaped and talk started to move in the direction of Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello and Gibson and Glover before a little sanity prevailed with Astair and Rogers.
But who in your opinion were Hollywood's greatest pairings?
Travolta and Newton John?
Gere and Roberts?
Batman and Robin . . . . ?

Rainy Saturday afternoon viewing on the box - when they weren't showing Ma and Pa Kettle, Francis the Talking Mule or Elvis that is.
Cheers

Long time no hear - how's things going - pretty busy I'm guessing.
Wasn't Audrey just devine and Peck so debanaire!
Have to admirt that while I quite enjoy Lemmon - was never a big fan of MacLaine - but each to his own - afterall - I thought Mr Ed and Wilbur Post were great
Cheers champ

On nostalgic bent again I see; I have to agree with Hepburn and Tracy too...Bogie and Becall, and Paul M*dib and Yusil?
Dystopic as it seems, I have to remember Romeo and Juliet here, and whilst on this subject (having just finished reading the quadrology), must say; look out there is a new kind of nostalgic magic in town and its happening in Forks, Washington; to vampires, humans and warewolves alike... I am talking Edward and Bella of course of Twilight fame. They are sure to make the greats, where old fashioned (non-sex scene) sizzling romance is concerned. A very refreshing touch of innocence in todays otherwise pornographic madness.

It kinda equates to Donne, Coleridge or Chaucer stacked up against Mills and Boon - it's simply no contest.

How nice of you to pop by.
Turkish (Jason Statham) and Tommy (Stephen Graham) I think are the two your thinking of - and yes it was a great pairing - not entirely sure they will go down as a iconic Hollywood duo - but great in Snatch none the less.
Nice choice - and - great to have meet you - virtually at least. Hope you can call in again real soon.
Stay well
