If You Had 1 Wish . . .
July 26th 2007 22:46
So, the much vaunted fairytale presents itself as you stroll along some fabled (yet poetically deserted) beach and stumble across a mystical looking lamp – which of course you dutifully polish.
When suddenly (and before you can say Barbara Eden) . . . . . kapoowww . . . . there before you stands your very own (if only scantily clad) genie!
Fixated by their errrrr – ravishing demeanor – you’re aroused to the news that you’ve been bequeathed a single wish.
The processes run through your head – when you’re also informed that – NO – you can’t wish for more wishes and NO – you can’t wish for another genie to appear to ‘grant’ you more wishes.
Damn it – where to now?
You reset your minds-eye – focus on all those childhood dreams, all those adolescent desires and fight doggedly with your conscience not to waste the fantasy on putting a stop to world poverty or saving the masses from Brittany Speers.
But what should you wish for?
Perhaps you’d play the never grow old card?
Yep - stay young and watch all those around you grow old and die? No thanks.
Perhaps become invisible anytime:
hmmmm – can’t see a long term use for this.
To be rich and famous:
Sure - rich is good. It frees up time to spend with the family but famous and all the headaches that go along with that - well . . . . .
So – what’s it to be?
Gee - I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard that . . . .oops
