Rachel Weisz to snare coveted Bond role?

January 20th 2011 23:26
Bond, 007, Rachel Weisz, Hollywood, Movies
Rumours surfacing this morning that Rachel Weisz is being lined up to play a villain in the new James Bond movie.

Producers have supposedly had a longing for the 40-year-old actress to play at least some role in the next blockbuster - but are getting the jitters based purely on the fact that she is now reportedly dating Bond star Daniel Craig.

The 23rd movie in the Bond franchise - reported to be called 'Red Sky At Night' is being directed Sam Mendes, while legendary actress Dame Judi Dench is returning as M with 'Frost/Nixon' actor Michael Sheen reported to have been approached to play the villain.

I suspect punters may also be surprised at who producers have earmarked on a shortlist for the next Bond girl as well . . .

Bit of a Weisz fan here. She is quite versatile and certainly has the vavoom of a Bond Girl.

Agora, Brothers Bloom, Constant Gardner, Lovely Bones, The Fountain, Beautiful Creatures and Enemy at the Gates all stand out.
