Stuff I Hated As A Kid
November 25th 2010 06:04
Did your mum ever try to convince you that pumpkin was in fact really only orange potato?
Or that you really would like that stinky cheese if you'd only just try it!
How about spinach - forever the domain of Popeye and now every renaissance man's favourite crepe filling - did it find it's way to the dog under the table?
And need I say it - the opposite sex!
There were seemingly endless things I (and most kids) hated - but at some time or other these seem to pass with the advancing years to the point that one morning I guess you wake up and suddenly mushrooms, brussel sprouts and those little slices of party devon with mashed potato and a cocktail onion skewered through them didn't quite seem so bad.
Hmmm . . . . or not.
Achilles had his heel and so do kids. But what was yours?
Porridge? Vegies? Compulsory exercise classes at school? Or school itself?

I had a serious aversion to socks when I was a child. I would cry over putting socks on every morning and drive my parents up the wall. And I would refuse to go to bed until I had been given an olive each night.
Hope you're well!
