TV Leading Ladies

June 9th 2009 23:13
Get Smart
From sitcoms to drama, police and crime to sci-fi and soaps – TV Land is littered with leading ladies who have beguiled us with their talent, characterizations and beauty.

From the humble-home bodies of Carol Brady and Marion Cunningham to Dana Scully, the Avengers Emma Peel, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Barbara Eden in I Dream of Jeannie – the roll call is as impressive as it is long.

Perhaps Barbara Felton as Agent 99 or the dynamic duo of Cagney and Lacey top your TV leading ladies list?

Or Patricia Arquette in Medium or Jennifer Love Hewitt in Ghost Whisperer is more the type that fits the leading lady bill.

Throw in Lucille Ball, Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda, Laverne and Shirley – even Blondie from the classic 50’s sitcom the Bumsteads – and you have a potpourie of leading lady talent.
But who rates in your books?

Jennifer Ganrer in Alias has always been a fave and Capt Janeway from Voyager still rocks my world. Also at the moment I am obsessed with Weeds so the leading lady in that (I can't be bothered Googling for the sake of this comment as I need a nap - massive day).

I also have to pull my finger out or give up. I got the equipment and must record you an MP3 this weekend!!

Morgan

Some classic contemporary choices. Personally I loved Kirsty Alley in Cheers as well.

Perhaps its a man thing - but Kim Cattrall just doesn't do it for me in any sense really - but that's opinion for you . . . we're all different.
