Is Someone Sabotaging Limewire?
August 20th 2008 01:01
Something out of context as far as my usual postings go - but concerning rumours this morning that a large commercial music library through its well healed militia is sabotaging the Limewire music network by uploading pornographic images directly to the site.
News out today that parents should steer children away from LImewire due to reports of sordid images being found on popular music downloads has enraged and concerned all who use the third party network - with the fingers starting to be pointed at commercial interests trying to shut down the popular site.
While nothing is conclusive - word around town is that the operation has been targeted and well orchestrated - and given the various attempts by the big guys over recent years to trample these peer to peer sites - Limewire has gamely held out - rightly or wrongly.
So what say you?
Is this a covert attempt by commercial parties to smear Limewire and trash its reputation - putting an end to what has been until now a gutsy run?
Or does Limewire deserve what it gets - from whomever is responsible - given the royalities it DOESN"T pay artists.

It appears nothing is sacred in the corporate jungle anymore.
And I thought they couldn't stoop any lower.
Sad isn't it?

But to throw in down the throats of unwitting kids who downloading what they think are audio files?
That's that wrong - from wherever - or whoever is responsible.
