Reasons to love the 80s
March 10th 2011 01:37
To be frank, I've never quite developed a fondness for 80s culture.
Why this is - I'm not entirely sure - given the 80s saw me move from a teen to a 20-something, a single guy to a married one plus a multitude of journeys, people and experiences along the way.
By rights, the 80s with its big hair, shoulder pads, fingerless gloves, leg warmers, MTV and the A-Team left me . . . well a little cold.
Perhaps it was the movies of the time (which I guess I can look back now with fondness) such as Flashdance, Footloose and The Goonies which burnt me.
Maybe it was songs like Physical, Ebony and Ivory or Tainted Love which left me scarred.
No - for the record I was pretty much a 70s man - in spite of disco, Star Wars and flared levi's.
But is one man's detain another's cherished memories?
So what (if any) reasons do you have for loving the 80's
