Classic 70's Love Songs
May 5th 2009 03:52
Had the chance to catch up with Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock from the 70's supergroup Air Supply not too long ago and was keen to hear what they had to say about not only their humble beginnings but also the stories behind such hits as Love and Other Bruises and Lost In Love.
While that particular story is a post for another time - it got me thinking about classic 70's love songs.
From soppy I’d Really Love To See You Tonight by England Dan And John Ford Coley through to steamy Rod Stewart and First Cut is the Deepest - there were a multitude of chart toppers which had us pining, yearning or longing for someone - either real or surreal at one time or another.
So whether it was Meatloaf or Styx, David Gates or KISS - did you have a favourite?

how about Bad Company with "Feel Like Makin' Love" . . . maybe its not that romantic, but its about lovers

I can sense a Warren Zevon number coming up.
Or perhaps some Bad Company.
