70's Love Classics
June 24th 2009 08:39
The 70s was a high point in the world of music - for some.
And despite disco being at its peak classic love songs also flourished. In fact I wouldn't be far off the mark by stating that some of the best love songs of all times were written during this time.
If you want to relive the magic of 1970s then you don't have to travel down the musical road too far.
Whether you are old enough to remember and still young enough to recall or perhaps you weren't even with us back then - perhaps - just perhaps one of these classics was the catalyst for your 'being'.
Or do these songs transend the age and music barriers.
Perhaps you have a favourite?
Would love to hear from you.
Here's one or two go to on with.

I've had a rough day and came here to escape for a while. And there they are, ready to soothe me.
I don't know David Gates, but I'll listen and see.

ELO (surprisingly enough) is a bit of a favourite of mine as well. Wonderful pop sound and so iconcially 70's. Undervalued in the pop world for my money.
As for David Gates - I'm sure you know him better as part of Bread and songs such as Diary, Aubrey et al. Do the search - you'll recognise the tunes I'm sure.
Stay well

Music transends the ages. Sounds that I thought were new in the 70's and 80's were just a rehash of songs from the 50 and 60's. The same has happened in the 90's and now as bands remix harmonies, lyrics and riffs by everybody the Rolling Stones to ELO.
Everything old is sometimes new again.
