Your First Pay Cheque
September 3rd 2009 05:09
Do you remember your first pay cheque?
Do you remember how much it was for?
Do you remember the first thing you bought with it?
If I'm to be totally honest - my first pay cheque was at the age of 15 and I was working at McDonalds - so needless to say at $2.65 an hour I needed to put away a few of these to make any worthwhile kinda of purchase.
In the end I recall investing in a pair of pseudo western boots - which went very nicely (at the time) with my Amco jeans and Lightning Bolt shirt - a real chick magnet!
If only I had a shot of it to share with you all.
Would love to hear about yours.

I earnt about $160- for the week and I am pretty sure I scored on the first week.
1X hyper color Tshirt
1X pink boardies
1X of the best and biggest REAL Australian burgers from milk bar across the road from Palm Beach Wharf - it had bacon, egg, pineapple, beetroot and you wore half of it down your sleeves instead of in your mouth - YUM
7X Cornettos - one a day from the ice cream boat that also came around the Basin every day
I used to love those summers so much - I ended up living there for 18 months with the Ranger and my mum - I had the greatest nickname - Jason from the Basin - also had a pet wallaby, snake and million other animals. I was TOTALLY that kid from Skippy

My first full time pay was $96 - and I thought I was rich.
$20 went on filling the Datsun 180B, $25 for board at home and the rest was all mine - a virtual king's ransom.
