Desert Island Necessities
January 20th 2009 04:14
If you were stranded on a desert island which three items would you choose to salvage for your existance?
Thanks in large part to an off the cuff comment by my good friend Lara M - this thought crossed my mind as I pondered where I would be without my iPod.
Of course food and fresh water would be a given on this fabled piece of paradise - but the other three items would be entirely up to you.
A cache of books perhaps?
A Blue-Ray (DVD) player?
A couple of cases of Scotland's finest?
Lara Croft?
Would love to hear from you.

1) iPod...!
2)
SunblockA trunk of good reading but if there's electricity and internet, my laptop.3) ...and hopefully by then, a solar-powered charger for the iPod (if there's no electricity)
Darn...it's tough to just bring 3 items!

Mine would be my iphone (can't live without it these days), a blanket (I get cold very easily) a notebook (with a pen). I might as well make a story out of it in the hopes of it getting published by the time I get rescued.

My pleasure. Credit where credit is due.
Thought about increasing it to five items - but we can't have the island looking like home now can we?

Yep - might just as well chronical the journey - and make a goldmine out of the stay.
Personally - think I might think about taking the professor from Gilligans Island - the gadgets he was able to whip up from coconut shells and palm leaves rivalled that of McGyver
Cheers

I would expect nothing less from you - always a livewire . . . perhaps you should be one of the items we take - never a dull moment.

I am assuming the island has fresh water inland, and growing fruits and and roots, game and berries, etc... so that only leaves one thing to pack: a very good man friend, for company and canooddling. I think the rest wold be academic and work out in time... but without human male company, I may well start to talk to my basketball, only to discover after my rescue, that the unopened Fed-X envelope had a cell phone in it the whole time?
