Three Things You Don't Know About Me

October 21st 2008 01:06
I Want You
Collectively we're part of the blogosphere - anonimity is the cloak we wear - partly because it acts as a security blanket, partly because some have a veiled facade - and some well . . . just 'cause!

Some of us have taken the next step and conversed via messaging and some of us have actually met (heaven forbid) - but for most of the Orble community, distance, privacy or a combo of reasons - we will never really be able to share a little more than our thoughts and outpourings.

Having enjoyed the company of some of you in person - and several of you via varying communique - I've come to the conclusion that the vast majority of folks on this network at least are decent minded, 'Joe and Mary Everyday' types - who I would just as soon have live next door or have over for a dinner party or casual barbecue.

Without naming names - there is a warmth and commraderie that comes with insights and a little familarity - which is why I'd implore you to share three things with Orblers that possibly we didn't know about you.

Nothing too personal of course (unless you want to) but perhaps a hobby, a career goal, star sign, pet hate, ultimate indulgence - you get the picture.

It could just open up a whole new world - then again it could just open up people's opinion's and minds.

Would love to hear from you all.

Hi MNG, I actually feel I reveal more of myself when I'm blogging (as you usually blog about your own personal experiences) but God knows how ppl perceive me. As for the 3 things - I'm a short road rager who's permanently stuck in the 80s.

I have 2 tattoos.

In my teens Bon Jovi were my absolutely most favourite band.

I got busted stealing earrings from K-Mart when I was 13. First and last time.

Love & stuff

Somehow I've left two comments. Don't ask me how.

MNG, where are your three things?

1) I'm Canadian, but I don't really want to go back to Canada.

2) I have three fake teeth, which I had done after someone kneed me in the face.

3) I love maple syrup.

Ok, ok, number 3 is synonymous with number 1.

3b) I struggle to be open-minded, as my natural instinct is to rage and fume at people that don't share my opinions.

That's cool - perhaps not the road rage bit - but being stuck in the 80's means you have soooo many fashion options still open to you

It's nice to get an insight - who knows what common ground we all might share.

Stay well - and don't listen to too many Flock of Seagull albums.

Hey M

Two tattoo's - dare I ask where - errr - perhaps not.

Time was only my grandfather's and their mates would have these - then it was a rebellion thing - now - well it's getting to be common place - me - I'm a bit of a fraidy cat - and wouldn't know what I'd want to have tattoo'd anyway - perhpas the names of each of my three kids - oops - now there's an idea.

As for K-mart - well think just about everyone can lay claim to doing something silly - glad the lesson was learnt.

Bon Jovi though - there's no excuse . . .

Thanks for sharing - I feel a bit special that people are willing to open up - just a little even.

I could say - I love Canadian's - but that would be both generic and a cop out as far as admitting three things people don't know about me - but I do enjoy a moose burger and Canadian beer.

That aside - I have a collection of around 2000 pieces of vinyl (err 45's/records/singles). I'm a sports tragic - still actively playing baseball and football among other things and can't live without the solice of the surf and beach.

Hope these three count.

Cheers

Sportsbar

It's where old cricketers go when they start to lose concentration at the crease.

1) i used to be an Army Cadet - i even did a Debutant Ball with them, white dress, waltzing, the whole bit

2) when i go out drinking at pubs and clubs i always scoop all the spare change, abandoned packs of smokes, and lighters off the table into my handbag before we leave to venue - it is also impossible for me to leave without finishing my drink (OCD or cheapness? haha)

3) ive never had a filling in my teeth or a broken bone - i believe it is due to fluride

what are your 3 things MNG?

I broke my arm 2 days before i got married but was only plastered up just before the wedding.

I am grateful for the life I have, the roof over my head, the clothes on my back and the food that eat. Even more so after my first visit to my wife's country.

Beck's is my favorite beer.

My name is Janet and I am not 21. I would prefer to be 29 (if I knew what I do now). I don't have tatoos but my ears are pierced. I like watching movies, reading books and (God forbid) keeping up with current affairs and politics (I keep this last one quiet).

Phew! I've done it!

Hey Morgan

Think I mentioned a couple to Cibby - but pressed for a few more - I would add that I'm a sucker for happy endings, have an very short fuse when it comes to people that are aggressively confrontational, and still believe that 'women' should be treated as 'ladies' - albeit perhaps not PC these days.

Stay well

Becks - nice choice. Not top of my list - but then again . . . between you and Posh Spice . . .

Glad you mentioned the fact that you broke your arm - most blokes simply 'get plastered' prior to being wed.

I raise my Warsteiner to you!

That must be a load off your chest!

I've got nothing pierced - though I do have incissions in my knee from a skiing mishap, a 5 inch scar from an archilles rupture, three scars from a shoulder job and a collection of broken digits, chipped and jaunty vertibrae, no ligaments left in my left ankle plus a library of X-rays and CT scans - all thanks to sport - someone remind me again why we engage in all that fun?

Cheers

I have a severe food intolerance to lamb.

I can't swim.

I went on a Ferris Wheel for the first time in my life last weekend and it was huge.

I love the fact you've shared the whole Ferris Wheel thing. That's both personal and conjures a certain (err cuteness) about being a kid all over again.

Thank you - I'll make sure that a pool party and lamb are off the menu when you visit the Nice Guy's and the Pondarosa.

Stay well

Wow MNG

Your are pinned together! I hope you kept up the skiing. I am a skier and it's the one thing I love about winter - spending a week in the snow with a bunch of mates every year is so much fun.

Well on the topic of skiing:

1) I was a ski instructor in California and got fired for insubordination. Kept my season pass though!

2) I'm a Libra all the way.

3) Mexican food is my idea of heaven.

Wow - what did you do to deserve that - or shouldn't I ask.

Funny - Sagittarians like Mexican food almost as much apparently - particularly the real deal in downtown Tijuana - complete with fried cactus and tequila - nice.

How daggy am I that it took me this long to get on a ferris wheel?! It was the big one in Brisvegas so it was kinda nice.

With the whole lamb allergy thing, does that mean I get stuck with Tom Cruise because I can't do the lamb roast? Oh that's the booby prize if ever there was one.

1) I don't know how to ride a bike so the expression "It's like riding a bike" pisses me off to no end.

2) I'm a videogames junkie. I save my money to buy games even though I definitely need a new wardrobe.

3) I actually love the cold in Canada (well, up to -15). I just don't like all the extra weight you have on with the huge coat, scarf, gloves and boots. I don't wear gloves and boots. It's not too bad, but I'll probably have a severe case of arthritis when I'm older.

You, Nicole Kidman, Mimi Rogers and Katie Holmes - boy - as far as booby prizes go - he spreads himself around

No 1. Unless there's an impediment to doing this - it give you a New Year's resolution.

No. 2: Clothes go out of style - video games simply become classics

No. 3 I just love Canada - full stop. Can't wait to get back with the whole family for an extended stay.

Cheers
