What's Your New Year's Resolution?
December 25th 2007 21:31
In the back of our minds we all hope that the coming year will be better than the one we leave behind.
Truth is, in most cases we are the masters of our destiny.
The other telling truth is that in most cases - we fail dismally when it comes to New Year's Resolutions.
Sure - come that first day of January - you'll see people everywhere pounding the pavement (or if you're on holidays) hitting the sand - brandishing their pristine new season joggers, a boot camp mentality, and a steeley determination.
As admirable as that is - you can be pretty sure that once the reality of the work-a-day world kicks in again - we start to make mental notes to self like - "Will start again Monday".
Before we know it - it's Easter - then tax time, work and family commitments engulf and we start spruiking adages such as "Gosh - this year has just flown."
As a record of fact - I'd like to state here and now that other than working a little more diligently on my health and fitness - family, friends and a whole less stress will grab top billing on my 'to do list' in 2008 - rather than earning the overinflated respect of corporate world and its equally inflated bottom line.
So what about you?
Perhaps you want to lose a little weight , pay off debt, save money, drink less alcohol, quit smoking, reduce stress, take a holiday, help others?
Have you vowed to make this year the year to learn something new?
Perhaps you are considering a career change, want to learn a new language?
Whatever it is - would love to hear it.

I take a different approach. I look forward to new year's celebrations. I look at what I can celebrate.... friends, family, good health etc.... Resolutions have not worked for me. :0)

Best to look after the important things in life already huh?
Last thing we all need is the resolve that disolves. . .
