Politically Incorrect Songs
October 6th 2007 21:48
It was by no means co-incidence that somebody - plied with copius amounts of courage - decided to ask the DJ to play - Ain't Gonna Bump No More With No Big Fat Woman by Joe Tex - at a function I was dragged along to recently.
Poor taste - given the circumstances I thought to myself - and one which the DJ could've (had he an ounce of grey matter) 'let go straight through to the keeper'.
Having now spied a crack in the dam wall - the flood gates opened - with a rash of requests - which quite frankly went from bad to worse.
Not wanting to be the one to pick up the pieces (or be involved in a physical or emotional fracas) - it was time to thank the hosts and make a measured - yet polite exit.
The evening (for all its foibles) did however get me thinking about politically incorrect songs in general.
. . . and aren't there some!
Feel free to add to this little compilation
Fat Bottomed Girls - Queen
Kissin' Cousins - Elvis Presley
Brown Sugar - Rolling Stones
Are You Old Enough - Dragon
My Ding-A-Ling - Chuck Berry
Big Balls - AC/DC
Let's Go Get Stoned - Ray Charles
Short People - Randy Newman
Skinny Girls - Racey
Like a Virgin - Madonna

Mum's Word
"I like big butts and I cannot lie
You other brothers can't deny..."
and that's all I can remember
And another 90's abomination "Freak Me" by Silk.
Honestly, if some guy came up to me and said "let me lick you up and down, till you say stop" I'd tie a knot in his tongue.
Love & stuff

...just...kind of...eerie...considering Gordon Sumner was a teacher...
'Stroke It' - Clarence Carter(?)...fun song but...
'Milkshake' - Kellis
'London Bridge' - Fergie...I had to be told what this song was about. By my teenagers.

C'mon.
I should ask Mr M. I'm sure he'll come up with a dozen dodgy songs from the 90's.
Good call on Stroke It, Dusk.

I suspect Mr M would have a great collection of song titles from the 90's.
Just don't let him use the Bellamy Bros: "If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body, would You Hold It Against Me" as a catalyst for anything.

Apparently (legend has it) that Lola was written backstage one night when the group was looking for something to quickly add to their live set.
Cheers buddy

Thank goodness for YouTube - the backbeat has a remarkable similarity to some of Credence Clearwater's stuff.
Thanks for stopping by.
