What's In 'Your' Time Capsule
February 10th 2008 22:18
The youngest of the MNG clan came home last Friday excited by the prospect that a 'time capsule' was to be unearthed from the school grounds after 40 years.
"I wonder what's in it dad?"
"Do you think there'll be CD's of some of the music or videos of the kids".
I was at lengths to explain that its contents would most certainly not contain either CD's nor video's - but more likely polaroid photographs, news clippings and perhaps (if she were lucky an old Super 8 reel with footage) trouble with that of course is finding something to play it on.
The whole notion of the time capsule 'thang' go me to think about what I'd put in my own 'personal' time capsule - for the sake of future generations.
Would (like the old Super 8 film) a CD of myself be outmoded - but a a legacy of the times.
Would I simply include a hand written diary or a day in the life. A scrapbook? Photographs?
. . . . and of what?
Would love to hear about the 5 things you would include in your own time capsule.

Keytar - I love it!
I'm surprised NASA didn't include you in the think tank when the decision was made to send out "Across The Universe" last week.
Stay well.

You're going to have to cull to only five - so lets take it as read that the last two were an afterthought for someone who only had three items
Agree about eye glasses.
I keep telling my kids that when they're old ladies that they will be able to tell their grandchildren about guide dogs - and how they assisted people who were non-sighted - it will seem soooo 18th century - and before the advent of optical sensory implants and retina fusions.
Cheers
