Read this! It Will Change Your Life!

August 20th 2007 00:13
As a eight-year-old – I remember being smitten by fear when I was the recipient of a chain letter.

Faced with the seemingly dire consequences contained within the missive (should I break the chain) I anguished for a day (and a night) over whether to forward it to 10 other friends.

In the end – I guess I tempted fate – though I can’t quite remember what happened after taking on board advice from my father that these things were ‘rubbish’ and the communiqué was deposited in an appropriate receptacle.

I’m sorry – but this morning even my ‘trash’ got tired of being filled with the likes of:

Friends are like balloons; once you let them go, you can't get them back. So I'm gonna tie you to my heart so I never lose you. Send this to all your friends including me and see how many you get back. Send this balloon to everybody you like. You may also return it to me. If four balloons are returned to you, something you have been waiting for a long time will happen!!!! Believe me...... It really happens! Send a lot of little balloons to your friends!

Come on!

Does anyone out there still forward these on?

Has the deliverance of evil befallen any Orblers who have not been a link to the relevant www. chains.

Have you been the beneficiary of any of the goodwill supposedly associated with adding to the spam folders of your friends?

It’s a battle I suggest I’m not going to win – but will take advice on.

Of course – for those inclined – please forward this post onto at least four friends – and benevolence (along with the obligatory good luck, good fortune and good karma) will find its way to you.

I hate chain letters. Next to pyramid selling, people who pass chain letters on should be the first in line for a swift couple of kicks in the genitals. And as for the people who write the things in the first place...
get the gun.... hahahaha

Thanks for the humorous post

Do these people have too much time - or not enough hope?

Hmmm

Always a pleasure.

According to all the chain letters that I have deleted I should be dead ten times over or living in a card board box.

I know!!! Chain letters are SOOOOO annoying. Now they are email chains....which are even more annoying and plentiful, but with less guilt involved.

I always break them. I've not had any bad luck from them so far....although...it could explain a few things.

loathe them with a passion...and yet..sometimes I send them BACK to the idiot who sent them to me in the first place...some satisfaction in that at least.

I read once, someone wanted to piss off the junk letterbox mailers, so she got all their stuff and put it in their return post free envelope and posted it back to them! She encouraged everyone to do the same, and soon we would be rid of the menace she promised...then along came the 'net' and email....fabulous inventions and such a brilliant convenience, but now there is no stopping them, chain latters and....penis enlargers ( does ANYONE know if that works? I'll order two..), cheap drugs...(well that could be useful, but it won't koz its fake drugs), etc etc etc...blah!

cheers

There's a lot to be said for cardboard boxes - death however - now that's another thing.

Thanks for dropping by.

Damn it. Received another one this morning citing the Irish Sex Fairy - feel reasonably safe that if I trash this one - then I'm not going to be any worse off.

It's an industry - someone (I assume) is making a squillon out there - while having poor cyberspace lemmings tout their wares.

Yes, I really don't like getting chain letters too. That seems to be the general consensus on this post doesn’t it?!

Hate is such a strong word. Tired would probably be more apt as far as my in-box is concerned.

Thanks

Hi MNG

I don't know why I wrote hate-I never use the word as it's too strong. I just changed my comment. I don't know what happened to me other than being in a hurry....

Thanks,

Tracy

Don't believe in passing on the BAD LUCK warning ones, but some of the others are pretty harmless.

Everyone has a choice.? If you don't mind giving away the odd $10 as the gift & spending some time to forward on, it could be quite community spirited? Some people look forward to receiving mail.... who knows.

I rang a lady on the top of the' list' thinking she might be local money laundrying service; & she was gorgeous! Just a country lady that was down on her luck when the letter came & passed it on, just to see...

Not everyone is BAD, they just have other reasons, feelings, call them whatever you like. ]
