Retro Food!
April 29th 2010 02:10
Does anyone remember Big Charlie Bubblegum? How about Streets Chocolate Hearts? Or even Happy Snax?
Do licorice blocks, black cats or slate sticks mean anything . . . to anyone?
OK then, how about cigarette lollies, Pollywaffles, Choo Choo Bars or everyone's favourite desert - Junket.
They're pretty much superseded these days (well to my knowledge anyway) and only fond memories keeping the dream alive.
So whether sliced luncheon meat rolled with mashed potato in the middle and joined with a toothpick was your fare or you yearned for a Sunny Boy or Razz - I love to hear what retro food fads you miss.

I remember we could get a small white bag of lollies (about 10) for 5 cents.
Now I've shown my age.

I think you're first thoughts were correct on cobbers - weren't they like clinkers?
And how much fun was it to ask for one of those, and one of those and one of those . . . the patience of the lady or man behind the counter must've been enormous and something you just wouldn't see today huh?
Nice of you stop by.
