Songs to Test Your Speaker System
September 30th 2010 23:31
For some of us, this weekend presents a chance to kick back and leave a few of our worries at the door, then either chill or max the volume out on the mp3 or CD player.
Music has always been an escape, and depending on your mood the eclectic mix available to the garden variety pop and rock connesuir is phenomenal.
But no matter if you're a Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons fan, The Doobies, Def Leopard or Metallica, there are some songs which just need to have the volume turned up to 10!
Classics like Meatloaf's 'Bat out of Hell', The Eagles "Heartache Tonight" and almost anything from ACDC top my list - but what tops yours?
. . . and don't worry - if ABBA cranked up to the max and belting out Ring Ring is your cuppa tea - well live and let live I say . . .

Mike Oldfield, Tubular Bells
Metallica, Enter Sandman
Deep Purple, Smoke on the Water
Allman Bros., Whipping Post
Fleetwood Mac, the Chain (a great electric solo)

Fish on Film
The Lives and Souls of Bella-Mae
Is it really sad to admit that I am currently addicted to 'Alejandro' by Lady GaGa and 'We No Speak Americano' by Yolanda B Cool?
It is, isn't it....I'm going now....

Long live 'the day' I say.
Sometimes there's just not enough getting of Smoke on the Water (every budding young guitarists first genuine attempt at being cool) or even Yes for that matter.
I concur wholeheartedly . . .

You know, I vivedly recall ABBA blasting out from car cassette decks back in the mid-70s - mostly owned by guys who would normally be more into ACDC or Def Leopard trying to impress girls - not entirely sure it worked . . .
Thanks for stopping by

I guess we could listen to Alejandro on full throttle. I just like some meat with my potatoes, though!
