Rock Star, Sports Star or Movie Star?
October 28th 2007 22:26
The barbecue is often the place the problems of the world are solved - though occassionally quandries of a different sort are raised.
Such was the case last night - when discussing the virtues of fame and fortune - the issue of which of the three 'household name' genre's - either Rock Star, Sports Star or Movie Star - you would rather have on your CV was raised.
Would the thrill of playing live to 100,000 screaming fans at Wembly Stadium be enough to temper the mind numbing thought of constant touring, creative differences and underhanded record producers?
Would the chance to achieve international recognition on the sporting field be enough to keep your mind focussed through endless training sessions, injury and big game pressures?
Would the glitz of celluloid, billboard posters and the red carpet be enough to contend with the paparazzi, trashy tabloids and scandalous rumour?
Me? Well I'm happy just making sure I don't burn the sausages!
Would love to hear your take on it.

Rugby World Cup 2007
Sports Star.
...preferably via Rugby...as a Wallaby...but...seeing as that's not just a fantasy but a total dream (something to do with me being a woman and literally not having the...um... you know, for the job...)
So...a Moto GP champion (for Yamaha)
Or...F1 racer (finally taking Jaguar back to their days of glory)
As for the other choices;
NO.
However...being a Rock Star wouldn't be so bad, as long as I was the drummer and sang lead from back there! A Phil Collins with Guns & Roses edge! Or Cindy Blackman.
Film fame?...being famous for pretending to be someone you're not and then being endlessley talked about for the person you are? No thanks.
Hope you're well G...twas a lovely Sunday.

Better a checkered finish than a checkered past huh!
Glad you had a great Sunday to boot.

Am a drama queen on occasion, so I think I could manage being in the flicks - but would really rather just watch them. Can do without a lens in my face off set as well as on. Plus, I come from a small town - am no stranger to rumours and rarely take them well!

I guess if Paris can be a star without really having to do too much then there's hope for us all.
Thanks for dropping by as always.
