Which Songs Lift Your Spirits?
July 25th 2007 22:37
We all need a little lift from time to time – be it spiritually, emotionally or physically.
How you cope is up to you – but personally (other than 'getting by with a little help from my friends') music will do it just about every time for mine!
So what’s your favourite uplifting anthem?
Does “We Will Rock You” by Queen get your blood pumping as you prepare for the onslaught of the day or is Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” part and parcel of your emotional armory?
Perhaps the soulful Cocker rendition of “You Are So Beautiful” is your catalyst for romantic endeavours - or in order to climb the corporate hoards maybe the Sinatra classic “New York, New York”.
Is “Simply the Best” by Tina Turner, simply the best or does Aretha and RESPECT do it for you.
Have you had to employ the assistance of a little Elvis in your life or even Shania Twain – because “Man, she feels like a Woman”.
There’s angry songs like Alanis Morissette’s – You Oughta Know, Bored songs like Counting Flowers on the Wall from the Pulp Fiction soundtrack, there’s music for when you’re feeling surprised, music for when you’re feeling tired, music for when you’re feeling – well just about anything!
The Knack, Jet, The Romones, Green Day – where you go to find your head space and who pumps up your tyres is as individual as anything I know.
So let’s all be individuals – together – hmmmmm.

Celebrity Obsession
Either that or I'll grab something ultra daggy to bop around to. Perhaps a best of the 80's cd. It's impossible not to be happy while dancing around your lounge room to A Good Heart by Fergal Sharkey. Impossible I tell you!
