How many posts per day are too many?
How many posts per day are too few?
And why do people unsubscribe from RSS feeds?
The results from a recent survey may surprise!
In spite of urban myth - almost 60% of people cite too many posts or the over overwhelming nature of posts are the key reasons they unsubscribe from most blogs.
This was followed by 42% of people who say that the infrequent nature of posts is effectively the reason for ditching a particular writer.
Other reasons catagorised by respondents included
* Blog Changes Focus (too much off topic posting) featured in almost 30% of survey replies while redundant, repeated or recycled material, uninteresting or irrelevant content also made the top 5 reasons.
* The blogger’s ego, too much self promotion, low quality content and negative blogging along with offensive content/personal attacks/discrimination, no or poor formatting in posts the pushiness of blogger and talking down to readers also featured highly.
