Amaze and delight your friends - or just bore them them witless with these obscure yet true pieces of useless trivia about the Fab Four.
The album Abbey Road was originally going to be called Everest, named after the brand of cigarette Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick was smoking at the time.
Come Together was originally a political campaign song given to Timothy Leary, who in 1969 had decided to run as governor of California against Ronald Reagan, the future US president.
Michelle is the most recorded Beatles song after Yesterday.
Paul McCartney wrote the melody to the song When I'm Sixty Four when he was just 15 years old.
On George’s All Things Must Pass album the back-up singers are listed as The George O’Hara- Smith Singers. It’s really George, double and triple tracked.
The Beatles song "Dear Prudence" was written about Mia Farrow's sister, Prudence, when she wouldn't come out and play with Mia and the Beatles at a religious retreat in India
The first Lennon/McCartney song NOT about love was “Help”
The first Beatle to record a solo Number one hit was George Harrison with “My Sweet Lord” in January 1971
