Who's Your TV Love Crush!
October 25th 2007 22:03
While thumbing through glossy newstand trash - I stumbled on an article about former 90210 star Jennie Garth - mmmmmm as Homer would say - Jennie Garth!
Even in the cold light of day - she still had those innocent doe eyes - enough to make a young man melt - which got me to thinking about people's lifetime 'love affairs' with different TV characters.
At some time, we all find some TV actors/actresses attractive - be it a TV boyfriend like Angel from Buffy, or the steamy Mulder from the X-files.
You may have detested the program itself - but tuned in every week - just to get your Kevin Sorbo (of Hercules fame) fix or fella's maybe it was Jennifer Aniston.
In fact, No.1 nephew only mentioned last week to me that 'Heroes' was such a 'cool' series.
. . . and why?
Was it the whole scenario of the prog?
Was it the sci-fi element?
Nup!
'Cause (Uncle Nice Guy) Hayden Panettiere is hot'.
So, ever had a TV love affair?
Would love to hear yours!

OK getting serious:
Hugh Laurie - House
Julian Morrow - Chaser
David Wenham - Sea Change
Tom Long - Sea Change
Karl Stefanovic - Today
Kate Walsh - Grey's Anatomy (I have a hetero crush)
Katherine Heigl - Grey's Anatomy (still not a lesbian)
Larry Hagman - I Dream of Jeannie
I see a comic theme here...
I'm sure there are many more. I'll come back if I think of them.

...otherwise no...no one really rocks my boat.
Maybe Angel.
Maybe Jack from SG1.
Maybe Gil Grissom from CSI.
Not crushes as much but...Lynda Carter and the woman who turns her head in the opening credits of 'Hawaii 5-0', were for me, in terms of beauty, just it.
Hope you're well MNG...I'm Russian right now... mus'go...

What is it about Hugh Laurie?
I hear so many women comment about him.
Is it the whole House thing?
Didn't seem to attract too much attention when he played the villian in 101 Dalmations or Stuart LIttle's father - so I'm still at a loss.
Perhaps it's just cause I'm a fella and I'll never get it?
Cheers buddy.

Kinda remember that lass with the lei on 5-0 - though I was more a 'Kam Fong as Chin Ho' type guy (don't worry if that reference is a little spurious).
Have a Black One for me.
Always

Although I am selective when it comes to TV love crushes, I have been a shallow fickle female and had a few TV Romeo’s over the years… not too many, because I fall hard and am faithful to a fault, you understand … but my first was Don West in Lost in Space.
I ditched him when Captain James T. first lost his shirt fighting the Monster with tea-strainers for eyes… gosh those special effects, honey coloured skin and rippling pectorals had me sleepless for months… *sigh* I stayed faithful to him for years, the cad … until his face lifts began to match those of the USS enterprise… when I lost interest because he had no wrinkles. (I did say I was fickle, didn’t I?).
Ho hum…I wandered a little aimless after that for a long while, pondering many wonderful specimens of male celebrity, from No:96 to Miami Vice, but nothing stuck ... (in my opinion) TV got stupid and I switched it off a long time ago ~ turning instead to the more earthy Neanderthal-types in historical ABC doco’s.
But I hadn’t given up my crush-lush ways, because, whilst only reading books and watching DVD’s, I was secretly having a more serious ‘crush’ with a Movie actor instead … that is until recently, when Hugh Laurie graced the screen as the nice psycho doctor, in House… Ah, finally something worth watching … and although I am still not absolutely sure, well … perhaps another TV crush is in the making?

My gosh - the thought that no one had a TV love interest had never crossed my mind. Yeah - Luke Perry (like House) is one of those characters that remain a mystery to most men as to why women take to them.
Still . . . perhaps my good friend Fog can enlighten me sometime.
Thanks as always for dropping by Trace.
Really appreciate it.

You started out so well. Don West (thank goodness it wasn't the robot) then James Tiberious Kirk followed by a suite of trashy (but cool) men.
Then don't tell me - James Dibble, Mike Bailey and heaven forbid Harry Butler (from In The Wild)?
Cheers

I was most disturbed that when I started my message I couldn't think of any telly love interests. I was relieved that I remembered the couple that I did, but still, I know I had more, where have they gone?
I'll be back when that part of my brain that keeps the fanciable men in the vault opens up and allows me to remember,

I used to fall in love with musicians rather than actors. Then I got hooked on BtVS and when Spike made his first appearance, it was love at first sight. I suspect the Billy Idol looks were partly to blame for that. And then I seem to have this thing for demons, too, because the only reason I ever watched Charmed is Julian McMahon.

Julian McMahon - did you ever see his father?
You know what they say.
Perhaps his gentic demons will come home to roost as the years march on.
Still he probably picked up a few clues from his Nip Tuck series to combat any hereditory woes.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing.

A lesser man would say you had issues
Yep - Chris Bath (the girl from Wentworthville in Sydney) is certainly a hottie. Those big baby doll eyes always did it for me too.
As for Nigella - well here's to food fights!
