TV and Movies: New vs The Original
March 28th 2011 01:52
With the launch of the new-look Hawaii 5-0 here in Australia recently it got me thinking about those TV shows and movies which for better or worse have found there way back to the screen.
Some, like Star Trek found an entirely new audience both on television and at the movies and surpassed most if not all expectations while others such as Miami Vice and 90210 crashed and burned badly.
Melrose Place, Knight Rider, The Love Boat, Baywatch even Get Smart had a crack and frankly all came unstuck.
So is Star Trek simply one out of the box?
Have remakes of movies such as '3:10 to Yuma' made in (2007)
and based on Delmer Daves' Western '3:10 to Yuma' (1957) or even 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' (1978) based Based Don Siegel's alien-horror classic, 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' (1956) do it for you?
Has there been others which have run their luck up the flagpole and succeeded?
And what have been other major flops in your opinion?
